Dragon Ball FighterZ Combos

This was ostensibly ready weeks ago, but I never hit post. To make a long story short, I put together a quick video showing how the basic combo string of Dragon Ball FighterZ works. Here’s a small bit of terminology to you need to know before trying this out.

L = Light attack

M = Medium attack

H = Heavy attack

s = standing

j = jumping

cr / d = crouching / down

jc = jump cancel (hold up)

The basic combo is as follows: cr.M, s.M, jc, j.L, j.M, j.L, jd.H, Dragon Rush, j.L, j.M, j.L, jd.H, jc, j.L, j.M, j.H, Super Attack

Yes, that’s a lot to swallow. But don’t fret, it’s not nearly as bad as it looks. Once you get the off the ground, it’s mostly the same sequence of buttons. The one part I still have issues with is performing the jump cancel in the air. I get the best results by double tapping up. The first jump cancel is much easier, and can be completed simply by holding up after the standing medium.

This combo doesn’t work for every character. There are a couple fighters such as Freiza whose jumping down heavy does not launch opponents into the air. Different combos exista for these characters. Even with the characters who can preform this combo string, you’ll want to deviate from it. It’s a great starting point, but if you’re looking to squeeze out every possible bit of damage you can, you’ll need to find the variation that maxes it out best for the character you’re using.
